The First of Many Updates on My Writing Process

After spending a considerable amount of time procrastinating, or as I like to call it, "being a dad", I'm back at the old keyboard, diligently working on my new book.

I’ve been surprised by how quickly I got back into the rhythm of writing. It turns out that having a goal and sticking to it really helps!

If you’ve been browsing my site, you might have noticed the new "Progress" page. It features a nifty graphic showing my progress on the next three upcoming works in progress (WIPs).

The New Release of The Infiltrator Is Now a Full Book

After initially releasing the first half of the novel (The Infiltrator: Part 1) with the intention of eventually releasing Part 2, I’ve decided that the best thing for everyone involved is to release the whole novel in a single part.

Mark Your Calendars: March 31st, 2026

I’ve set the release date for the last possible Tuesday in March. Hopefully, this will give you, my readers, a chance to dive into the book over your long Easter weekend. It will be available for pre-order in eBook, paperback, and hardcover at the beginning of next year. If everything goes according to plan, I hope to have your support, my kind reader, in getting in on the early action!

How Did I Get From There to Here?

I set myself a goal of writing an average of 800 words per day, with two days off a week of my choosing. In the past, I’ve been guilty of adding to a goal when I’ve missed the day’s word count. But this time, I decided to flex the endpoint instead.

Basically, if you miss a day you weren’t expecting, just add a day to the end. Write more in a day than you think. Either don’t stress about the rest of the week’s word count, or drop a day off the end.

That’s how I managed to write about 35,000 words in roughly three weeks!

What Am I Doing Now?

I’m keeping the momentum going!

After a complete self-edit and a read from my primary beta reader, the novel is now in the hands of a group of ten beta readers. I eagerly await their feedback.

Hopefully, they enjoy it, and I won’t have a load of changes to make.

Remember, if you want to receive updates on when the book is ready for pre-order, or if you’d like a chance at a free signed copy, or even be selected for a beta reader group for another upcoming work, join the mailing list and follow me on X.

The Importance of Feedback

Feedback is crucial in the writing process. It helps me refine my work and make it the best it can be. I appreciate every comment and suggestion from my readers.

I often find that the insights from beta readers are invaluable. They see things I might have missed. It’s like having a fresh pair of eyes on my work.

I can’t wait to hear what they think!

Looking Ahead

As I continue to work on my current project, I’m also thinking about future stories. I have a few ideas brewing in my mind.

Writing is a journey, and I’m excited about where it will take me next. I hope you’ll join me on this adventure.

Until then, see you around the site sometime!
